This situation commonly occurs when dogs build aggression at the front door, often unknowingly encouraged by their owners. If you have large dogs with strong defensive instincts, this scenario might be in your future. To protect yourself, consider putting your dogs away before answering the door.

Unfortunately, most delivery personnel are often terrified of dogs due to frequent confrontations at the front door. Their fear typically leads them to scream and back away, which signals submission to the dogs. As a result, the dogs may feel compelled to drive the visitor away from their territory. If the dogs are allowed to act aggressively toward visitors, their aggression can escalate.

Eventually, a fearful or weak individual may arrive at the door, and the dogs may feel they can dominate the situation, potentially resulting in a bite or even knocking the person down. This can lead to legal consequences and lawsuits.
