FRESNO, Calif (FOX26) — A pack of dogs is creating fear and concern in a central Fresno neighborhood.
One homeowner says the dogs have already killed four cats and she worries they could attack her children.
The dogs have been running wild and targeting cats since Sunday.
Kara Kerber came home that afternoon to discover her cat had been mauled to death.
“That was my baby you know what I mean. That really mentally hurt me. It’s not something I’m gonna be able to get over,” Kerber said.
Kerber says the dogs are causing fear in her central Fresno neighborhood.
“Since then the dogs have killed my neighbor’s cat, they killed a Siamese cat behind us on the next street and a gray cat on the street behind us,” Kerber said.
She called Fresno Animal Center to complain but claimed no one would investigate the problem.
Because no one came out Kerber collected the bodies of the four cats and took them to a local animal rescue to dispose of them.
Three days later Kerber wants someone with the city to realize there’s a problem.
“Had there been a kid out here that day I’m absolutely certain they would have attacked the child. They’re very aggressive dogs,” Kerber said.
She worries the dogs could come back an any time and for now Kerber won’t let her children play in the front yard.
