Author: Colby Derr, Kathryn Roley Published: 2:36 PM CDT June 11, 2025 Updated: 10:39 AM CDT June 12, 2025 According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office, the teen was attacked by more than 10 dogs off of White Oak Drive on Wednesday, June 11 at approximately 12:15 p.m. Officials said in a statement that around 30 dogs were housed at the location as part of a rescue. The victim had been assisting the rescue by taking care of the animals in a fenced area and trying to find them permanent homes. “It could have totally been avoided. And this young girl's family wouldn't be suffering right now,” Ralph Murphy, a neighbor, said. “I mean, she's gone,” Heidi Clay, whose father lived in the area, said. Residents said this neighborhood in Alexander was quiet until the dogs moved in and started roaming the area, acting aggressively.
